Overview
This workshop introduces participants to key concepts, approaches and
vocabulary that students are learning in Open Circle and explores how
specialists can use Open Circle strategies to enhance their own work and
to coordinate efforts with grade-level teachers. This enhanced consistency
and coordination can support students in practicing and using Open Circle
skills throughout the school day. Participants develop basic knowledge of
the Open Circle program, reflect on and appreciate their unique roles as
specialists, and create practical applications of Open Circle concepts for
their work.
Participation in this program includes:
• 7 hours (one full day) of training
• 1 copy of the Introduction to Open Circle Manual
• 7 Professional Development Points
• Continental breakfast and lunch
