4/12/09 --
Principal Nadene Stein from Northeast Elementary in Waltham, MA, wrote a Letter to the Editor of the Boston Globe:
"Drake Bennett's "The other kind of smart: Is it time for schools to try to boost kids' emotional intelligence?": Not only is it time, but it is already happening [...] We have been using Open Circle (a program of the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College), which focuses on three essential areas: creating a cooperative classroom environment, solving people problems, and building positive relationships."

4/09/09 -- The Lexington Minuteman featured Open Circle in an article titled "Kids reap benefits of social-skills program":
"Lucia Gates, a guidance counselor at Bridge Elementary School, is one of Lexington’s Open Circle pioneers and biggest supporters. Inspired by the fact that the state required schools to have a social competency program but troubled that there was no uniformity to the programs in Lexington, she has written several LEF grants. 'We all know about reading and writing and math, and that’s all important, but the social and the emotional part of the day — that’s also crucial,' Gates said.
