Sallie is Open Circle’s Coaching Director, a member of the Open Circle Core Management Team and an adjunct faculty member of Framingham State College.  She joined Open Circle in 1996 as a trainer and consultant. Prior to joining the staff of Open Circle, Sallie served as the Director of Training and Associate Director of the Greater Boston Legal Services, was a middle school counselor, trained middle school teachers, and used outdoor challenges as part of the treatment for drug-involved adolescents. Sallie earned her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.Ed. in Counseling from the School of Education at UMass-Amherst. Sallie has a special interest and expertise in the role that teachers of special subjects play in schools and in the lives of children, and she has spent considerable time studying the dynamics of elementary school cafeterias - often the most challenging part of day for students and adults. Outside of Open Circle, Sallie shares her time volunteering with the AFS Intercultural Programs, her church, and other community social action groups.
